CONSCIOUS COMBINING EXPLAINED: THE NEVERS
And I do mean never! I know I told you there were no nevers on my diet. Well there aren't when it comes to food. But who classifies diet soda and artificial sweeteners as food? These seemingly insignificant products can do more to devastate your diet than any other food. I call them the gruesome twosome!
Diet Soda
Sorry. This old diet standby is laden with sodium. But don't despair! Remember, the Beverly Hills Diet lets you eat foods that are important to yon—real foods. If you were asked to list your ten favorite foods, would diet drinks be on that list? Sodium compounds your bloating problem and thwarts your digestive processes.
Diet drinks are also laden with chemicals such as saccharin. While we're on the subject, you should know that chemicals like saccharin totally confound your poor body. Chemicals are a shock to your system, something your body simply was not created to deal with, totally foreign matter, and certainly fully indigestible matter.
Your body is so confused by this foreign matter that, in the process of trying to deal with it, vitamins and minerals are destroyed. Before your body can use food containing chemicals, such as diet soda, it has to detoxify it, draining not only vital nutrients but also energy stores. Think of foods with chemical additives as having to go through a filtering process before their value can be obtained.
Artificial Sweeteners
Don't forget, anything that can't be digested is fattening. Artificial sweeteners can't be digested. They are unnatural chemical compounds that your body simply wasn't built to digest. And, in the process, they foul up the processing of all the foods you eat along with them. Besides, do they really satisfy you?
Interestingly, the only people who don't lose weight on my diet are those who persist with the nevers, those who won't give up their diet soft drinks and their artificial sweeteners.
